Rehabilitation of West Garden Grove Booster pump stationCity of Garden Grove | 2015
The project began with an investigation of the existing facility. The preliminary investigations included a four-day condition assessment of the facility, hydraulic testing of three booster pumps and one well pump, well production and efficiency testing, vibration testing of the pump and engine equipment, and efficiency testing of four natural gas engines. A Preliminary Design Report (PDR) was prepared which recommended redevelopment of the production well, replacement of all four engines, replacement of the three booster pumps, and minor revisions to the building. Upon approval of the PDR, two separate contract documents were prepared. The first was for the redevelopment of Well No. 22 which included removal and reconditioning of the well pump, light swabbing of the casing, water quality testing, chlorination, and re-installation of the well pump and engine. The second contract document was for Rehabilitation of the West Garden Grove Booster Pump Station. The project included replacement of the four existing natural gas engines and three booster pumps. Additional design items included replacement of the LPG storage tank and vaporizers, replacement of engine cooling water piping system, new exhaust fans, and new roof openings for removal of the booster pumps. |
